The DVA Claim Process - Initial Liability
Step 1: You may already know what yo need to claim for OR you can request for our team to review your medical file.
Not sure what you can claim for? Our team can help.
Step 2: Veteran/Member engages Med For Men to review their medical file.
Our dedicated team can review your medical file and assist in identifying injuries or conditions that are service related. We work with you to ensure you meet the requirements for claiming each condition. If you don't require this service, skip to step 3!
Step 3: Lodge your claims.
Get the claims process started by lodging each injury or condition using your MyService portal. If Med For Men have assisted you with your med doc review, you will be provided with a PDF document, evidencing each injury/condition and the SOP factor supporting your claim. This is to be uploaded to DVA.
Step 4: DVA initiates the diagnosis process & medical assessment.
DVA will review your submissions and email you a report to take to your GP or relevant specialist. This report will request your GP to conduct a medical assessment or confirm the diagnosis. Your GP will submit this directly to DVA. There is NO COST to the veteran for this consultation, it is billed directly to DVA. Nominate Med For Men as your GP to have a copy of this report sent directly to our clinic.
Step 5: Permanent Impairment Medical Assessments (COMPENSATION)
Our GPs can assist with the completion or Medical Assessment reports issued by DVA to help determine the level of impairment - Nominate Med For Men as your GP to have your assessment completed and lodged in a timely manner.
